Blender for FSX is developing!

Hi there,

The Blender2FSX toolset, with which I've imported my D.21 Blender file into FSX, is expanding nicely this week. See the Blender2FSX thread here: http://www.fsdeveloper.com/forum/threads/blender-to-fsx-toolset.428090/

Now, there are features for most FSX developers. Feel free to try it out!

Projects update

Another update on the T.5 and the D.21.

I remade the tail section of the T.5 so it matches the real one. Since it should be OK now, I added windows to both sides. These were used as waist gunner positions. There was also a window in the floor of the tail, but I haven't created it yet.

The second pilot/top gunner's position is coming visible also. The first pilot sat in the cockpit, the second pilot doubled as a top gunner. His station was normally closed by a sliding roof and hydraulically operated windshield.

About the D.21: I tested with TacPack and it works well so far. I am a little restricted to the available Guns in TacPack though. A Vulcan cannon won't be realistic, so I stick to a Vickers. I believe it approaches the guns used on the Dutch D.21s best.

Fokker T.5 update

Hi everybody,

I've been working on both the T.5 and the D.21 in the past days. The D.21 has undergone TacPack testing.

Roughly the nose section of the T.5.

Added a bit more glass to the nose section. The nose section was made of metal, the centre section and wings of wood and the rear section of fabric covered steel truss.

Close-up of the framing of the nose. I thought corners were rounded, but this proved not to be the case after photo research.

What it looks from the inside.

And the rear section added. Still things need to be checked and refined, but anyway... Wing base also added.

TacPack in the D.21 will be implemented, I expect this won't take too long. If so, I'll publish the TP as an update.

Regards!

The D.21 and TacPack

Hi everybody,

I'll keep it short: I'm planning to make my D.21 TacPack compatible. I need to find things out still, but I believe everything will be possible.
Note: the D.21 will be freeware anyhow.

Regards!

Project X Complete Scope

Hi everybody,

First of all, thanks to all readers of my blog, I passed 1150 visits which I'm really proud and thankful of.

Next, let me tell you guys the complete outline of Project X, a Fokker T.5 bomber for FSX.

Back in September, I started research for a T.5, whether it should be possible to create one for FSX or not. I got loads of information (but still lacking a lot, as always:D) and decided to continue.

Then I came in touch with mr. Wim Anceaux (www.anceaux). He is a relative of W.F. Anceaux, who was the pilot of the T.5 that made a mission to the bridges near Moerdijk and Dordrecht in May 1940, in order to stop the German invasion. The date: 13th of May, 1940. The bombing mission however failed and even the bomber was shot down, killing its entire crew. Actually, they were prepared for this on the airfield, since circumstances were criticial. By the way, another well-known crewmember of this mission is Ben Swagerman. One C-130 Hercules is named after him.

Mr. Wim Anceaux has organised two memorials for this particular crash in the past, but wants to organise a bigger one in May 2015. We had some contact and I came up with the idea to produce a video of the FSX T.5, which should be shown on this memorial (13-5-2015). Since I don't have the smallest experience in this video-producing, I eventually contacted Jonah (JRSchiphol, YT: https://www.youtube.com/channel/UC7g3yS3gu86yUxsilI0nEDg). He will create the video for the memorial.

To get things done before May, I'll create the exterior .mdl first, also because the VC will take much much much longer time. I'm quite excited about this project and I hope for succes!

Hope I made things clear

Regards, Daan Kaasjager

Fokker T.5 nose picture

Hi everybody,

This is another picture of the nose section of the Fokker T.5 bomber for FSX that I'm making. It might be a bit different of the pic I posted earlier, because I had to redo the shape twice. But now I've got a solid base I think.

The first goal of this project is to get the external model finished before May 2015. More about that later.

I wish to thank all Dutch people who've been already very helpful in providing information and photographs. Without that, a virtual T.5 would be impossible. If someone yet has more information, please contact me.

D.21 project status: manual in review mode. No release date yet, but it won't take long!

Project X first picture

Hi everybody,

Few weeks ago, I announced my next Project X. Today, I sorted out drawings and even came to Blendering. I'm very happy to present Project X to you: a Fokker T.5 bomber for FSX. This is not the entire Project X though, but further publication will be done in a few weeks.

The Fokker T.5 is a twin-engined bomber and a contemporary to the D.21. It served at the Dutch Army Air Force before and during the second world war. Several T.5s flew operation missions during the five days of war in May 1940, some of them also were destroyed while doing their duty. This is also an aspect of Project X, which will be completed with some FSX-filmmaking.

Kind regards, Daan
