Memorial May 13, Dordrecht

Hi everybody,

After months of preparations and hard work, today was the premiere of the T.5 video at the Moerdijkbruggen Bombing Memorial. Based on the reactions we received afterwards, the video can be regarded as successful. IMHO, Jonah has done a wonderful job in editing this video.

The memorial itself was also very good. There was a lot of music, several inspirational speeches and a good atmosphere. I regard it as a worthy tribute to the seven young men (between 22 and 27 years old), who died for freedom.

We had the honor to talk with relatives and other relations of the brave people that served our army in May 1940. Even a gunner from a Fokker C.5 biplane was present, being at high age.
A very interesting thing we came across today, was an original D.21 logo that was on the tail of the D.21s (illustrated below on my D.21). A pilot ripped it off his D.21 after having to land the plane during the war. The son of this pilot held a speech on the memorial and showed the relic.

A short report of the memorial, including a few shots from our video, can be found here. The video itself will be published on YouTube later on, which will be announced here as well.

From this place, I'd like to thank everybody who contributed to the Memorial Video project. Thank you:

- Jonah Snoei (JRSchiphol)
- Roel Lamé
- Wim Anceaux
- Huub Vink
- Museum CRASH
- NL2000
- and many other individuals around. Please forgive me if I didn't mention you here, it's hard to tell which contribution is really essential for the video project and which is not ;)

Kind regards,

Daan Kaasjager
