Danish Virtual Cockpit

Hi everybody,

I've been working on the Danish colors recently, now they are darker and nicer to see.

Furthermore, I found enough courage to start work on the Danish cockpit. There are a lot of differences, but I got good photographs.

The front panel. Gauge layout has changed, but the major change is the electrical unit. This one is from Rotax, not from Ragonot as in the Dutch version.

On the left, the flaps control system is different, but somewhat nicer to see than the Dutch version.

On the right, the Munerelle oxygen control unit has disappeared and replaced by two gauges on the lower front panel. The fire extinghuisher came on its place and is likely different from the version the Dutch used (I have no pictures of the Dutch fire extinghuisher, so if somebody had one, I'd love to see it).

Because I didn't see any clock on the panel, I built a watch around my coded and animated clock. I had this idea long time ago, but in the Dutch version this wasn't needed. Now it is (until a clock gauge pops up from the photographs...).

Now this only needs to be textured, bit of animating and coding as well.

Current project status: Dutch version in beta testing phase, Danish version in building phase. Since my school will be beginning next week, I won't be able to put more time than strictly possible into the project. No release datum for the Dutch version yet!

Cheers, Chees

Danish paint J-50

Hi all,

This is another update with the Danish colored Fokker D.21. Depicted is J-50 and the colors are revised to get a better result, they were to light. This looks far better now.

In fact, external modelling and texturing is almost finished on the Danish version, only left is a sufficient prop texturing (this one is Dutch obviously) and custom weathering.

The VC is still in very early stage.

Project status: release order will be: first Dutch versions, then Danish versions. No date yet!

Paintjob of the Danish J-50

I started painting the Danish model tonight, resulting in this WIP. Mind that it's still in early stage of the paint, the wings still have to be done.

I didn't have the correct color codes I believe, so these colors can be changed still. If someone does have these codes, please contact me, I'd be very happy to deliver the historically most accurate representation. Thanks in advance!

This has to be J-50.

You can spot most differences that I mentioned in my previous posting here.

Danish Fokker D.21

Hi all,

Another beta has been sent to my testers. Since I had a bit of time, I started working on the Danish license built version. I can't really show pictures, but the main differences are:

  • Different gunsight
  • No standard landing lights
  • No weapons
  • Tiplights moved
  • Large landing light right
  • Landing gear strut protection cover removed (was also in real, because snow was gathering there)
  • No radio antenna
  • the inside of course has even more differences!
Until now, the external model is done mostly and the VC is being worked on.

Current project status: fourth beta testing phase, work on foreign version, no release date yet.

YouTube tutorials moved

Because the increasing number of YouTube videos of krispy1001, I moved them from the Blender to FSX guide to a special page. Find it on the right!

New custom environment map

Since I don't really like the grey looking default FSX global environment map, I decided to make one myself, as part of an experiment too. Another motivation to make a custom environment map, is because of the non-Dutch looking of the default one. That made me to derive a environment map from a regular flight above the ever-fantastic NL2000 scenery.

To get a good feedback of the thing I made, I exaggerated the reflection settings. This is what it looks at the gauges' glass.

And after a close-up at the compass, it looks quite nice.

Concluding with a pic of the map in the Ati cubemapgenerator.

I'm happy with the result, even more since it's my first try at this technique.

Regarding the development progress: beta testing phase continuing, still no release date yet.

Have a good night!

Blender2FSX YouTube tutorials

Hi all,

Mr. krispy1001 was so kind to create a series of YouTube tutorials involving the entire Blender2FSX workflow and explanation of FSX aircraft development. Please have a look up there:
http://www.fsdeveloper.com/forum/threads/blender-2-70-blender2fsx-tools-video-tutorials.430998/

I'll put each separate video link in the recently published Blender to FSX page as well.

Blender to FSX guide published

Dear readers,

I tried to make a sort of guidance in using the Blender2FSX toolset for Blender-based FSX development. You can find this page by following the link at the right of this page. Hope you find it useful, and contact me if you have questions.
